OTERthe Organization of Teacher Educators in Reading, is a special interest group of the International Reading Association (IRA). The purpose of the organization is to facilitate communication among its membership; provide a forum for debate and discussion of current issues regarding improvement of reading instruction; assist in the development of quality teacher education through recommendations for preservice and inservice program; stimulate research in reading, and disseminate information regarding significant investigations; seek improved competence at all levels of reading instruction; and arrange conferences which will further the objectives of the organization.

Call for Proposal Deadline
Dear OTER Members and Friends,
The OTER Program Committee, chaired by 2013-14 OTER president, Dr. Colleen Tano, has extended the deadline to submit a program proposal for the 2014 OTER/IRA convention to be held in New Orleans. The new deadline is June 15th! Please download the proposal form on the link below and submit it electronically to email@example.com. The IRA convention is to be held April 27-30, 2014 and the OTER Roundtable session is to be held on Tuesday afternoon, April 29th.
